Zero Trans Fat Palm Oil Palm oil and its components (palm olein and palm stearin) are NATURALLY
occurring ZERO TRANS liquid oil and fats. Due to its naturally occurring fat composition it has no need for hydrogenation or other chemical processes to yield both ZERO TRANS cooking/frying oils and ZERO TRANS NON-HYDROGENATED fats for frying or for margarine formulations.
Advantages of Palm Oil
PALM OLEIN: As a frying oil, palm olein is a very high-stability (thus allowing longer usage times before replacement is required), 100% zero-trans fat frying oil. It has been reported also as having an improved drain ability from the food being fried, resulting in both longer oil usage times, and lower oil-in-fried food (thus, lower calorie intake).
PALM STEARIN: Is natural, zero-trans, non-hydrogenated fat. It has been widely used in Europe and South America for margarine formulations. It is available in a wide choice of solid content vs. temperature curves, thus making it a valuable fat component for margarine formulation.
Health Advantages of Palm Oil
- Crude Palm oil is a rich source of vitamin-A, in the form of carotenoids. It is about 15 times more than that present in carrots.
- Palm oil is a natural occurring source of the antioxidant vitamin-E constituents, tocopherols and tocotrienols. Studies have suggested that these natural antioxidants may play a protective role in cellular aging, atherosclerosis and cancer.
- Palm oil has been a safe and nutritious source of edible oil for healthy humans for thousands of years.
- Palm oil is easily digested, absorbed and utilized in normal metabolic processes.
- Studies have shown palm oil does not raise blood cholesterol levels in direct comparison with olive or canola and peanut oils.
